Atomic Canyon has launched FERMI, its proprietary family of nuclear-specific AI models, setting new benchmarks for search and retrieval across nuclear documentation.
Purpose-Built AI for Nuclear
FERMI is the first family of AI models specifically trained on nuclear industry data. Developed using ORNL’s Frontier supercomputer — the world’s first exascale system — FERMI models are built on the NRC’s ADAMS database, encompassing over 40 years of regulatory filings, safety analyses, and technical documentation.
The result is AI that understands the specialized terminology, abbreviations, and regulatory frameworks unique to nuclear energy. In benchmarking, FERMI models demonstrate 40% greater accuracy on nuclear-specific tasks compared to general-purpose alternatives. These models now power the Neutron platform, delivering faster and more precise results for nuclear professionals.
Looking Ahead
FERMI reflects Atomic Canyon’s commitment to building the most capable AI tools for nuclear energy. For more on how FERMI powers Neutron, visit the FERMI models page.
