Atomic Canyon Raises $7M to Accelerate AI for Nuclear Energy

Atomic Canyon has closed a $7 million seed funding round led by the Elevate Future Fund from Energy Impact Partners. The round also includes participation from Commonweal Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures, Wischoff Ventures, Tower Research Ventures, and previous angel investors.

Fueling Growth

The funding will accelerate development of Neutron, Atomic Canyon’s AI-powered workbench for the nuclear energy industry. Specifically, the investment supports three priorities: expanding the engineering team, deepening research partnerships with national laboratories, and scaling Neutron deployments to additional nuclear facilities.

Validation from the Field

The raise follows the successful deployment of Neutron at PG&E’s Diablo Canyon Power Plant — the first on-site AI deployment at a US nuclear facility. That real-world validation, combined with growing demand from utilities and regulators, attracted investors focused on the intersection of AI and critical infrastructure.

The funding round has been covered by TechCrunch and Axios, among others.
